This position offers the chance to support the sales of Digital Science’s range of innovative products that help our publisher customers better serve their readers, authors and institutional clients while adapting to rapid changes in scholarly publishing.You will join our small, tightly-knit, highly experienced Publisher Relations team, where we engage with publishers in a consultative manner to identify how Digital Science can address some of their biggest challenges. You will be responsible for organizing our renewal business strategy and identifying sales opportunities; coordinating and executing customer engagement activities; supporting the wider team with Salesforce.com reporting, and planning/writing marketing outreach efforts. You will also help with planning conferences activities and other scholarly research and communications events.This role is ideally situated in either the East Coast of the US or in the London, UK area where our head office is located. This position doesn’t require travel; however there may be 1-2 in person team meetings this role would be required to attend (once travel is possible). It’s an exciting place to be.Role Responsibilities:-Learn the value proposition of all Digital Science publisher products and understand Digital Science and portfolio company revenue and market-share targets for publishers.-Develop a centralized program for the renewal of Digital Science portfolio company services to the publisher market (Altmetric, Dimensions, Figshare, Ripeta).-Work with Publisher Relations Team members to execute that strategy as well as identify upsell/cross sell opportunities and coordinate related outreach.-Develop a centralized strategy for organizing incoming leads, to ensure timely qualification and follow up-Perform online research to inform Digital Science Publisher Relations team sales activities.-Work with and support key Digital Science portfolio contacts responsible for engagement and/or execute engagement activities directly.-Work alongside and support other Publisher Relations Team members in a team-selling environment with writing sales proposals, collateral, email efforts and other materials as needed.-Provide detailed Salesforce.com sales activity and summary reports to Publisher Relations team colleagues and Managing Director, Publisher Relations.-Ensure the Salesforce.com instance is updated and meets reporting requirements of both the Publisher Relations team and Digital Science senior management.-Assist in the planning of conferences activities and other scholarly research and communications events.Experience:-2+ years sales support and/or marketing experience in scholarly research/publishing -Customer outreach and engagement experience a plusSkills:-Exceptionally organized and detail oriented.-Familiar with consultative sales, marketing and engagement strategies.-Ability to work autonomously with little day-to-day supervision.-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  -Ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities.-Ability to work effectively from a remote office.-Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions.-Adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated with a strong work ethic.-Experienced with sales reporting and using CRM systems like Salesforce.com.-Experienced with Excel, at least at an intermediate level.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Science, communications, media and other related areas of study are a plus.
